Running long hood forward in passenger operation is no problem for the engineer, Frank “Jethro” Strunk. Originally hired for the Central Railroad of New Jersey 53 years prior, he would ultimately retire a few months after this photo was taken on July 20, 2021. NJT 4531 (ALP45DP) is on the rear.
