BN 986, a former GN NW5 added to the color at Harrison in early January 1973. This 1000 HP road switcher was a rare bird with only a dozen or so being produced, most for GN. They were on early attempt (WWII era) to compete with Alco RS1s and road on an F unit length frame using Blomberg road trucks. Under the hood they were essentially a 1000 HP NW2. A boiler would fit in the short hood.
