| BNSF rotary snowplow no. 972554 appears to be a hybrid of an older rotary blade and housing attached to a GP38-2. Interestingly, the plow has a 5 axle wheel arrangement, combining the use of an SD70 series truck with a Blomberg Geep truck. The color scheme on this full width body plow is reminiscent of Great Northern's E7 passenger color scheme developed for the 1947 Empire Builder. No complaints from me on that. The plow is staged at Glendive, MT. |
