| The Southwest Chief blazes across the Marceline Sub nearly on time on this wintery morning. The train begins the slow up for a crossover move at Hurdland. The Chief normally does the station work off main #1 at La Plata, 11 miles back, and now will use main #2 to get around a stacker just ahead. Heavy wet snow blanketed the area over night.
