On September 17, 1994, a Burlington Northern local is about to depart Rochelle, Illinois. Leading the train is BN EMD GP9 No. 1977, a former Spokane, Portland & Seattle locomotive built by EMD in June of 1956, and is set up to operate long hood forward.
