For its 40th Anniversary, Amtrak put together a display train to tour the system. This train consisted of NPCU 406 (former F40PHR 406), Dash 8-40BP 822 (one of the carrier’s engines painted in a retro scheme with 40th Anniversary markings) and cars AMTK 10020 (former 10-6 sleeper), AMTK 10093, AMTK 10094 and AMTK 10095 (three baggage cars converted to display cars), and AMTK 85999 (a former Amfleet café car converted to a gift shop). The train was on display at the former Santa Fe Railway, now Amtrak, station in San Diego, California, on December 4, 2011.
