| A pair of KCS type units were tacked onto this BNSF DP unit at Pittsburg. These 2 units will make the 315 mile journey from Pittsburg to Wade to assist this heavy coal train over the heavy grades. Here the train is outside of Mena and done with the heavy lifting over Rich Mountain and now will coast down grade towards De Queen on the Shreveport Sub. One or 2 of these units will be setout at Wade to be returned to Pittsburg for the next assignment. Most of the KCS power is in decent shape, but a few of these older GEs are showing their age. |
