| The West Burlington Shops was the heart of the BN heavy locomotive repair and rebuild dating back to 1883. The shops were closed in 2004 by BNSF and everything moved to Galesburg and other shops. Not much goes on at "West B" anymore and the 250,000 square feet main shops sits idle, crazy from the days when this was a happening place.
A loaded coal train begins the descend into the Mississippi River Valley at Burlington. The train is bound for Chicago Interchange. |
