Remarks & Notes

A Burlington Northern coal empty approaches the top of the grade at Palmer Lake on Colorado’s Joint Line on the afternoon of July 8, 1985. Four GE C30-7s lead a lone EMD SD40-2 as power for the train that is headed for Denver and eventual loading at a mine in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin.
