| Quite a few steam locomotive enthusiasts refer to the Bavarian four-cylinder express trains locomotive S 3/6 as the most beautiful machines ever built. The 4-6-2 locomotive # 3673 was built in 1918 in the series "S 3/6 i" by J.A.Maffei for the "K?niglich Bayerische Staatsbahn" and got the number 18 # 478 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The locomotive, now owned and operated by Bayerisches Eisenbahnmuseum N?rdlingen (BEM) is on the 20 meter diameter turntable of the Bahnbetriebswerk N?rdlingen. |
