A former Santa Fe Doodlebug rests in a small park in Belen. Built in 1932, this unit was used in commuter service between Albuquerque and Belen during the 30s and 40s and between Clovis and Carlsbad until the 60s. After its retirement in 1968, it wound up at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, where it was on display until 2007 when it was transported to Belen for permanent display due to its history in the area. Visible in the back is the current BNSF Belen Yard.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
