Sweden delivered one X 2000 train set to China's Guangshen Railway Co. Ltd. in 1998. The set operated under the name Xinshisu (translated as "new speed") in Guangzhou-Kowloon through train service until 2007. With approximately one year left in service, the Xinshisu passes through Sha Tin station on KCR's East Rail Line. Interestingly, this set was returned to Sweden in 2012 where at least part of the consist was refurbished and returned to service.
