Amtrak train 4, the eastbound Southwest Chief, is running 5 hours 20 minutes late as it departs Kansas City on its journey from Los Angeles to Chicago. This train is back to daily operation at this point, and has also gotten longer. On this day, it has three engines (AMTK P42DCs 194, 45 and 30) and eight cars. (Kansas City, Missouri – June 17, 2022)
