Amtrak train 14, the northbound ("westbound" on the Southern Pacific’s Los Angeles Division) makes it stop in San Luis Obispo as it makes its way from Los Angeles to Seattle. A pair of recently-delivered SDP40F diesels lead this 13-car (at least) train: AMTK 555 (nearly 3 months old) and 582 (almost two months old). (San Luis Obispo, California – July 1, 1974)
