A loaded coal train rolls around the mile long curve near Halpin in southern Iowa. Soon the 3 motors (2x1) will down to their knees as they fight the 1.2% grade into Albia on main #2. There is 3 coal trains in a row here, so everyone has been hanging back letting the train ahead climb the hill. This load is bound for the CN at Centralia, IL, who will forward the train to Newton, IL. The train is bound for the Newton Power Plant for Illinois Power Generating Co.
