| It is 04.46 AM on the ore line from Kiruna to Narvik. To celebrate 120 years of operation, the 0-10-0 steamlocomotive R # 976 of the Swedish Railway Museum is pulling the about 1300 ton iron ore train 50976 from Kiruna to Vassijaure and is on the way between Kaisepakte and Abisko Oestra. The locomotive was built in 1909 by Nydqvist och Holm AB (NOHAB) for the service on this line. The train was running at night, as the line is temporarily closed for maintenance during the day, and traffic is somewhat heavier the rest of the time. |
