    Remarks & Notes
Amtrak's westbound California Zephyr makes its evening run across the BNSF Ottumwa Sub, cruising through Chillicothe, Iowa a few miles past its last station stop in Ottumwa. Trailing 3rd is Siemens Charger Amtrak 301 wearing the "Day One" heritage scheme. This unit is enroute to Lincoln, Nebraska where it will be dropped for use in training.

The wide open spaces of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma have little service - one train for the entire state. South Dakota has none.
