| "Traverso" RABe 526 # 101/201 of the Südostbahn (SOB) is running the Interregio IR 2332 "TRENO GOTTARDO" of the line IR 26 from Locarno via Bellinzona-Gotthard mountain line-Arth Goldau-Lucerne-Olten to Basel, over the 127 meter long and 53 meter high Ch?rstelenbach bridge on the Gotthard north ramp between Gurtnellen and Amsteg-Silenen. The bridge was when built between 1880 and 1882 a single track truss bridge with one high stone pilar. In 1893 the bridge was completed with a second track. Later reinforced for the higher weight of the trains in 1906 and 1920/1922. Between 1970 and 1972 the bridge was rebuilt in steel/concrete, but using the old stengthend middle pilar. |
