| Norfolk Southern empty coal train 591 rolls through the bend as it passes by a pair of PRR position lights at milepost 142 in Thompsontown, Pennsylvania. One of NS's standard cab EMD SD70's leads the trains across the Pittsburgh Line as it follows the Juniata River. The signs of change are already visible here, with the new relay cabinet in position that will replace these wayside masts with cab signals. The lead unit would also be rebuilt just a few years later as part of the SD70ACC rebuild program, becoming NS 1829. |
