| The photographer, standing atop the old Route 66 overpass, is about to experience the warm exhaust from four units hitting their stride between Gallup and the Arizona line. This was still current of traffic territory along the old Second District where trains kept to the left and the cantilevers and signals of unique Santa Fe heritage told one whose railroad this had been, as much as the classic Warbonnet color of the lead unit. |
