| General Electric caboose (GECX) 120239 brings up the rear of a high and wide load on the Carolina Piedmont Railroad. The GE plant in Greenville, South Carolina routinely ships out these huge wind turbines via rail. Most go to CSX in Laurens via the Carolina Piedmont. CSX then takes them to Charleston where they are loaded onto ships for an overseas buyer. Here a train carrying tw wind turbines rolls through Irmo, South Carolina on July 19, 2009. |
