Remarks & Notes

MEC 507 idles in the late afternoon sun, next to Third Avenue in Somerville, MA. Pan Am (now CSX) often keeps a locomotive here for Boston-area local job BO-1, which is one of the last freight jobs in Boston. MEC 507 is a heritage unit painted in the former Guilford Rail Systems scheme, and was originally built for Canadian National in 1974.
