On June 25th, 2022 - the New York and Lake Erie hosted a private photo charter involving some rare-mileage and its fleet of active locomotives. Lined up nicely next to the Gowanda depot, the venerable MLW FPA's of CN heritage are painted in a unique but nice looking blue and yellow with patterns inspired by the Erie Railroad. Next to them, the recently restored ALCO S-1 "Erie 308" basks with its new paint job in the sun.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
Photos of North America's favorite First Generation locomotives. EMD, ALCO, Baldwin; essentially anything that represents the OG wide cab diesel locomotive
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
