    Remarks & Notes
Endangered. New York Central Railroad (NYC) S-1 no. 6000 (ALCO/GE, 1904) and T-3a no. 278 (ALCO/GE, 1926) are seen at the Port of Albany, on land where they have been stored for the past 35 years. Recent redevelopment of the site has put these historically noteworthy locomotives at risk, and their owner, the Danbury Railway Museum, has made significant effort to have them moved from the site and brought to their property, but are still requesting donations to fund the last stage of their move. (This photo was taken from the adjacent River Rd, as the site these locomotives are on is private property owned by the Port of Albany.)

New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
