First light at Novar illuminates the snow capped northern landscape in warm golden highlights as 451 rumbles over the Little East River, kicking up some fresh powder on their way north. The train will terminate in North Bay another 68 miles from here, work interchange traffic with the Ontario Northland Railway for the mines, mills and other points further north, and return later in the night once the crew has had their rest.
