Following three days of rain and snow, with snow falling at unusually low altitudes (about 1000-feet or so – it snowed in San Bernardino!) the previous day, BNSF railway train Q-LACLPC6-23L (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Los Angeles CA to Logistics Park Chicago IL) pops out of the fog in the lower part of Cajon Pass as it rounds the final curve before reaching Summit. BNSF ES44C4 6973, ES44DC 7382, Dash 9-44CWs 5450 and 5041, and ES44C4 8186 are in charge of this 104-car, 9833-foot, 8333-ton train as it winds its way through a snowy scene. Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
