At 2618 feet, Cajon Pass' Blue Cut, is much lower than Cajon (near Sullivan's Curve) or Summit (obviously, since it sits at 3775-feet). It therefore rarely gets much snow. However, after three days of a cold arctic storm, and a particularly punishing third day, Blue Cut has a thicker than usual white coat. Grinding up the grade, eleven miles from Summit, is BNSF Railway's Long Beach CA-Pier T to Logistics Park Chicago IL Intermodal Stacks train, the S-LBTLPC1-25, steadily working its way uphill alongside a swiftly flowing Cajon Creek, behind BNSF ES44C4s 6883 and 6956, ES44DC 7279 and ES44C4 8278 up front, with BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5050 and ES44DC 7681 as the rear Distributed Power Units (DPU) – essentially remote-controlled helpers.
