| Rock Island 205 halts its eastbound freight at Joliet, short of the diamonds with ATSF & ICG at Union Station, while a westbound rolls by led by U28B 253. Joliet was the west end of Rock Island commuter trains in in spring 1974 also still saw two pairs of Rock Island passenger trains. Rock Island could not afford to join Amtrak. Joliet Union Station was also served by Amtrak trains operating on both ATSF and ICG. |
