| Someday the plan is for the UP to replace this 1907 bridge across the Mississippi River with a fixed high level bridge. The new bridge will clear the 100 year foot plain by 44 feet and will widen the channel for navigation from 177 feet wide to 378 feet. A westbound empty pulls into Clinton for a crew change and a PSR pickup of 35 freight cars. Highway 30 from Iowa to Illinois is in the background. |
