The California Zephyr 6 train was 16 hours late getting to Colorado which meant the crews would have to be switched at Coal Creek Canyon. UP 5518 (C45ACCTE) was in the lead to help the train get to Chicago after one of the P42's had to be dropped due to a bad wheel bearing.
