This is my 5,000th photo on Railpics. It has been a good run over the past 17 years. Thanks for all the views, comments, favorites, and support from many. Here is one of my favorite from my KYLE trip in February. Thursday was the best part of the week. The KYLE closed down for 20 hours to let a snowstorm pass thru the state. The next day was a nice clear day and the chase was on. We had 25 miles of 25 mph trackage, so we looked hard for some drifts that were going to be hit at speed. Lucky for us we checked out the right gravel road west of Colby. I absolutely love 25 mph drift busting. I have found that it is the right speed to see the train throughout the drift, and anything faster and it can become a snowball. This would be our only drift at speed, but it was awesome!
