UP SD40-2 no. 8007 shows off its "snoot" at Argo Yard, Seattle. The 8000 series were known as the "Fast Forties" geared to run at higher speeds than stock SD40-2s. They were often found splicing a pair of Centennials along the Columbia River Gorge on the hottest intermodal trains in the mid 1970s. UP meant it when they said "We can handle it" back then.
