| Lately it seems Norfolk Southern's Erie Lackawanna heritage unit is captive to various yard duties in the North Jersey terminal area. So it was an unusual treat to have 1700 assigned to work train OI-95 on the Lehigh Line in late April. This short ballast train spent several days working between CP Bound Brook and CP Port Reading Jct. Here the conductor is in position on the hind end waiting for permission to shove west for another day's work. NJ Transit's Bound Brook station provides a backdrop. Note that the eastbound platform is being rehabilitated and the adjacent waiting room will once again serve the public after decades of disuse. |
