As a C&NW employee located in the Seattle area if was always heart warming to see C&NW locos come to town, mostly on Union Pacific. This trio led by Fast Forty 8037 featured CNW 6802, their second SD40-2 and 6851. C&NW's SD40-2 fleet would grow larger than their respectable sized SD45 fleet, and would represent the first commitment to using dynamic brake units in large quantity. This would permit UP and other railroads to set up run through agreements with a more predictable power pool.
