The The Stourbridge Line afternoon "Pocono Express" was near Sunrise Avenue in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 when it passed a neighboring building that has been repainted with a brightly colored mural welcoming people to the place that the first commercial steam locomotive ran on rails in the United States. Named for Philip Hone, former Mayor of New York and president of Honesdale's Delaware & Hudson (D&H) Canal Company, the community's ties with railroading run deep.
