Waiting for the Bridge. The 12:00 Canal Excursion train just arrived at Canal Junction after deadheading from Hyannis. It would wait for the Canal Traffic Control to let several boats southbound, against the current of the incoming tide, before lowering to allow the train to position for the Eastbound Excursion out of Buzzards Bay. The 544' center-span lift bridge was built in 1933-35.
