The Return Of The Heavy Cab. On Saturday, July 15, 2023, NJ Transit Train 2114 presented at the Pearl River, New York station with NJTR GP40PH-2 4103 (ex-NJTR 4105, née-CNJ 3676, GP40P, EMD, 10/1968) on the east end of the train, the spot normally occupied by a cab control car. The station at Pearl River was opened on May 27, 1871 (present building approximately 1880) by the New Jersey and New York Railroad, a predecessor of the Erie Railroad. Today the MTA Metro-North Railroad owned 1,250 square foot station building is served by NJ Transit trains under agreement with the State Of New York and the MTA.
