| Frank Slide Gravity contesting the advance of a CPKC manifest on the heavy grade at Frank Slide, AB. On April 29, 1903 the Turtle Mountain broke loose putting in motion a massive landslide that covered the valley. The railroad rebuilt but it caused a steep bump in the otherwise uniform grade. Now this section of track is the ruling grade for westbound traffic on the Crowsnest Pass route. The rock pile in the background is part of that slide. |
