On August 10, a northbound freight train derailed in the 57-kilometer-long Gotthard Base Tunnel, and since then both tubes have been closed. All passenger traffic, as well as freight traffic that can pass through the smaller profile, travels via the Gotthard mountain route, today also called the panorama route. "Giruno" highspeed train RABe 501 # 014 "Bern" of the SBB is crossing the 42 meter long Intschialpbach bridge on the Gotthard north ramp between Gurtnellen and Amsteg-Silenen, running as IC 10156 of the line IC2 from Lugano via Bellinzona-Arth Goldau-Lucerne-Olten to Basel SBB.
