On august 10, a freight train derailed in the 57-kilometer-long Gotthard Base Tunnel and since then, both bores of the tunnel are closed for nearly 2 weeks, as we know now. So all passenger trains, and some of the freights, are rerouted over the old mountain line, nowadays called the panorama line. Re 420 # 285 (Re 4/4 II # 11285) of the SBB with automatic coupler (hinged up) pulls the mail train 50021 from H?rkingen sort center via Olten-Lenzburg-Rotkreuz-Arth Goldau to Cadneazzo in the Ticino, through the Wattinger curve between Gurtnellen and Wassen. The train is transporting parcels in containers and letters in sliding doors cars.
