| For one day, to join N&W #611's return to the rails, famed #501 was dressed to play the part of an ACL locomotive on loan to the Norfolk & Western, replicating the 1958-59 period where such a thing happened to the 501. 611's sisters were scrapped following this brief period of borrowed power. |
