“Echelon Left” Four of the five F9PHs rostered by the Maryland Rail Commuter Service (MARC) are laying over for the weekend in the yard at Brunswick, late in the afternoon of December 6, 1987. Left to right are MDOT 7183, 7182, 7185, and 7181, along with an MDOT RDC.
All five F9PHs were rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen between December 1980 and March 1981 from former B&O F7s.
My compliments to the hostler, who would consistently park the F-unit trainsets in echelon left formation. The RDC? Must’ve been tied down by the FNG.
