Flip of the Switch.
A Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar operator manually throws the single-point switch on the grand union at Bathurst St and King St while a crowd of pedestrians look on, curious about what I walked into the intersection to photograph. The operator's train, Flexity Outlook no. 4434 (Bombardier, 2009-present), is operating a Route 504 service to Distillery Loop, which was detoured onto Bathurst due to construction work. This detour resulted in alternating 504 and 511 streetcars on Bathurst, which meant every Route 504 operator had to throw the manual switch to turn onto King and every Route 511 operator had to throw it back to continue down Bathurst.
