| The Waterloo to Ft. Dodge local found an unusual leader for the Saturday train. The 5456 is paired up with 2 SD70Ms off 337 to work west. Normally the 570/571 work with SD75s, but for some reason that wasn't the case today. The rear 3 dash 8s are bound for storage in Western Iowa. Here the job looks to see if the UP interchange has anything for them. Nope...onward they go to Ft. Dodge with no more work. They will meet their counterpart at Webster City. The UP and the CN both cross the Iowa River here in Iowa Falls. The power company is working hard to make this shot as hard as possible anymore. |
