| OKLAHOMA CITY OK Dec 18 1983 — MKT GP40 178 poses for a roster shot at the former Rock Island Harter Yard. At this time the facility was operated by the Oklahoma Kansas Texas (a Katy subsidiary). Katy was taken over successively by MOP and UP. The 178 was delivered in MKT red paint by EMD in August 1966. Note the red paint showing through in some places. The 178 was leased to NdeM from October 1989 to April 1990, stored unserviceable at Fort Worth TX and sold to Helm Financial. It was scrapped Oct 23 1991. My photo. |
