The NJT Celebration Continues. Not A true 40th Anniversary special, but a lucky catch for railfans, NJ Transit Train 54 (Port Jervis, New York to Hoboken, New Jersey) was powered by the "Disco Boxes" (NJTR 4119 and 4120, F40PH-2CAT) on the morning of, Monday, October 2, 2023. The locomotives were in Hoboken for the Equipment Display event on the previous day, and so were readily available to fill a need on a revenue train. The train is seen crossing Moodna Viaduct in Salisbury Mills, New York on MTA Metro-North Railroad's territory on Norfolk Southern's Southern Tier Line, a freight only route in the Erie Railroad era.
