Amtrak operated a test train of Talgo cars from Los Angeles to San Diego, and this train is seen passing through Fullerton, led by Amtrak F40PH 229 and Metrolink F59PH 873. A new platform on the south side of Fullerton’s new Track 3 is under construction, and soon there will also be a new pedestrian crossover. And, until this day, I always assumed that F40PHs and F59PHs had the same carbody profile! (Fullerton, California – October 6, 1994)
