Garden Staters. On October 7, 2023, NJTR 4120 (F40PH-2CAT) sits next to former Erie Lackawanna 3372 U34CH inside the building at the 2023 Family Day Events at the Meadows Maintenance Complex in Kearny, New Jersey. The U34CH was a unique creation for EL and the New Jersey Department of Transportation, a six-axle unit with head end power capability produced by General Electric, and 3372 is believed to be the sole survivor of that group. The F40 was purchased at a time when it was a very popular passenger engine, both for commuter and long distance rail, and is still active today.
