| A very Alaskan switching scene with the Lynden Alaska trailers in the background and bold Alaska lettering on this GP38-2. I have a soft spot for this particular locomotive as it happens to also be the first thing I ever photographed as a punk 9 year old in the 80s. My mom was probably tired of me asking her to take pics and she handed the fixed aperture plastic Vivitar 35-whatever-it-was over that day. The rest has been downhill. Anyways, this locomotive and 2003-2008 came to Alaska from Helm and are former Conrail. The first two GP38-2s 2001 and 2002 are former Butte Anaconda and Pacific. |
