    Remarks & Notes
In a scene reminiscent of the once mighty Pittsburgh steel industry, J&L #58 maneuvers into position beside hot metal car #822 for a night photo shoot. Built in Pittsburgh in 1937 by the HK Porter Company, #58 is one of seven 23" gauge 0-4-0T steam locomotives delivered to the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation for the South Side Works. Number 58 was restored to operation and converted to 24" gauge in 2019 by the Youngstown Steel Heritage Museum. Car #822 is a Kling-type hot metal car and was built in Youngstown, Ohio by the William B Pollock Company. These cars were employed by United States Steel in Pittsburgh and were capable of carrying 75 tons of molted iron.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
